Woman surrenders after shooting another woman in front of son

COVINGTON - A woman surrendered to authorities early Friday after fatally shooting another woman in front of her 10-year-old son in Newton County. <br> <br> WSB-TV reported Friday that police said Barbara Dalton kidnapped a woman and her 10-year-old son in Jasper County around 5 p.m. Thursday. <br> <br> Dalton drove to her ex-husband&#39;s home in Newton County where she shot the woman in the head. Another college-aged male was in the home at the time, police said. <br> <br> Dalton then drove to her home on Highway 11 after the shooting and barricaded herself for seven hours, surrendering about 1:30 a.m <br> <br> The name of the victim has not been released. Investigators did not have a motive. <br> <br> Dalton could be charged with murder in Newton County and could face kidnapping charges in Jasper County. She was being held in Newton County Jail.
