The 59-year-old man, whose identity was being withheld until authorities could notify his family, was in a restricted area where even employees are not allowed when he was hit at about 4:50 p.m., Lisa Bigazzi-Tilt said.
The man was treated at the scene by paramedics, she said, before being taken by ambulance to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he was declared dead.
The passenger, a 14-year old girl who was seated in the front car of the ride, was taken with leg injuries to Cobb Hospital, Bigazzi-Tilt said.
Another passenger on the same ride suffered minor injuries when she was hit by a shoe lost by the 14-year-old on impact with the worker. The second woman, 21, was treated at the First Aid station at the park, she said.
