Former Glynn County officer found guilty in felony sex case

BRUNSWICK - A former Glynn County police officer was convicted late Wednesday of sexually assaulting a woman in his custody while he was on duty. <br> <br> A Glynn County jury found Dennis Krauss, 45, of Waynesville, guilty of forcing the woman to have sex with him after he responded to a report of a domestic dispute at her home in December 1999. <br> <br> The jury acquitted Krauss of related charges of felony rape and misdemeanor sexual battery. <br> <br> Krauss, a 19-year veteran with the Glynn County department, resigned six days after being arrested. He now faces revocation of his state certification as a law enforcement officer. <br> <br> Krauss&#39; lawyer, Ken Blackstone, declined to comment. <br> <br> Superior Court Judge Stephen Scarlett said he planned to sentence Krauss within 30 days, officials said.
