Three people, including young boy, die in East Point fire

EAST POINT - A couple and their grandson were killed in a house fire in East Point early Friday, authorities said. <br>

East Point Deputy Fire Chief Mark Rogers said the grandparents were believed to be in their 50s, and their grandson, who was living with them in the brick, single-story house south of Atlanta, was 2 or 3. Their names were not immediately released. <br>

The bodies were taken to the Fulton County Medical Center for autopsies. <br>

Cause of the fire was still under investigation, Rogers said. Firefighters answered the call at about 2 a.m. <br>

The bodies of the man and boy were found in separate bedrooms, and the woman's body was found in the yard, Rogers said. <br>
<br>
The woman probably died from injuries sufffered when she jumped out of a rear window in the house, which was 20 to 25 feet off the ground, Rogers said. The others appeared to have died from smoke inhalation.
