ATHENS- A teen-ager was charged with murder Thursday in connection with a fatal shooting last weekend.
Antonio Ramon Bishop, 18, was arrested around 2 p.m., the same time funeral services for LaCedric Kenwon Shields were scheduled to start at East Friendship Baptist Church, police said.

Shields, 21, was shot to death in the parking lot of a Subway restaurant near Prince Avenue around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Athens-Clarke County police said.

Restaurant employees told authorities they saw several cars arrive in the parking lot around closing time, then saw five men get out of the cars and begin fighting.

Detectives have said Shields was a passenger in a car when he arrived at the scene. Athens-Clarke Assistant Police Chief Mark Wallace indicated witnesses pointed out Bishop as the shooter.
``There's a lot yet to be done,'' Wallace said, before declining further comment.
Bishop remains in the Clarke County jail without bond.
