MARIETTA - Authorities in Cobb County say more than 2,000 tires burned in a fire at auto service shop. <br>

The fire shut down South Cobb Drive for several hours Wednesday afternoon, causing a massive traffic jam but resulting in no injuries. <br>

The fire generated a tower of black smoke. Equipment used to battle the blaze forced authorities to shut down South Cobb Drive in both directions for more than three hours. <br>
<br>
Cobb Fire Lieutenant Dan Dupree said he expected the road to reopen completely in time for Wednesday's commute.
