ATLANTA - Closing arguments will be heard in Atlanta Friday in the murder trial of Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin who was known in the 1960s as black radical Rap Brown.
Al-Amin is accused of killing Fulton County sheriff's deputy Ricky Kinchen and wounding Deputy Aldranon English when they tried to serve a warrant on him in southwest Atlanta two years ago. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
Al-Amin never took the stand in his trial. The defense rested Thursday afternoon. The defense claims it's a case of mistaken identity and someone else shot the officers.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Friday.
