CLAYTON - A Rabun County physician was arrested earlier this week and charged with intent to manufacture methamphetamine. <br>

Dr. Charles Pennington was arrested Monday. <br>

"This followed a four day investigation by the sheriff's office, Clayton Police Department, Northeast Georgia Drug Task Force and GBI," Rabun County Sheriff Don Page said.<br>
<br>
Page said the arrest was made after a search warrant was served at Pennington's residence. <br>
<br>
"Officers were looking for evidence of a methamphetamine laboratory," he said.<br>
<br>
Page said Pennington does not have any prior offences. The 50-year-old general practitioner practices in Clayton. He was released on $10,000 bond.
