FAYETTEVILLE - A Fayette County man who has worked at animal hospitals gave his wife animal tranquilizers, causing her to lose some vision and develop a shaking condition, authorities said. <br>

Richard Kinnard, 35, administered telazol and ketamine to his wife, according to arrest warrants. Kinnard turned himself in March 5 and was being held in Fayette County Jail without bail. <br>

The wife, Charis Kinnard, suffers from colitis, sheriff's Detective Tracey Carroll said. She showed up semi-comatose at a hospital last month and was suffering seizures, Carroll said. <br>

Charis Kinnard, 23, is now living with relatives, as are the couple's three children. She has lost some vision and has a shaking condition that may be permanent, Carroll said. <br>
<br>
Deputies searching the couple's home found animal drugs and other items stolen from a Fulton County animal hospital where Richard Kinnard had worked, in addition to a stolen gun. <br>
<br>
Kinnard is charged with several gun, drug and theft charges in addition to felony aggravated battery.
