No problems detected on tail of Airbus jetliner owned by American

FORT WORTH, Texas - No problems with side-to-side movements like those that doomed American Airlines Flight 587 were detected on the tail of a second Airbus A300-600 owned by the airline, officials at American said Sunday.<br> <br> The voluntary ultrasonic test was conducted by the Fort Worth carrier after the Federal Aviation Administration last week said it would require inspections of the Airbus jetliners.<br> <br> &#34;We look forward to returning these two aircraft to service after they complete their scheduled maintenance base visits,&#34; said Dan Huffman, American&#39;s senior vice president of maintenance and engineering.<br> <br> The FAA said it would require airlines to conduct detailed visual inspections of the tail and other parts of A300-600s and A310s that have experienced side-to-side movements as strong as those recorded by Flight 587 before it crashed.<br> <br> The flight crashed Nov. 12 shortly after taking off from New York&#39;s Kennedy Airport, killing 265 people.<br> <br>
