ATLANTA - Tests have indicated that a pesticide likely caused eight dogs to get sick after eating food in a public park in southeast Atlanta.
The dogs received medical treatement this weekend after eating what appeared to be chicken livers in Brownwood Park. A veterinarian says the meat seems to have been soaked in some sort of toxin - now believed to be pesticide.
The dogs' owners say the incident could be linked to recent leash-law debates they have had with other nearby citizens.

None of the dogs has died from eating the food, although two are still being treated.
At least four of the owners had vet bills of more than $400.
