Four Georgia teachers among Presidential Awards winners for math and science

ATLANTA - Four Georgia teachers were among the winners of Presidential Awards for excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching, announced Wednesday. <br>

Overall there were 198 winners in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. <br>
<br>
The award recognizes talented educators who exhibit outstanding teachers and leadership skills in grades K-12. <br>
<br>
The Georgia winners were: Mary Mendenhall, who teaches elementary mathematics at Kedron Elementary School in Peachtree City; Clelia Scott, an elementary science teacher at Golden Isles Elementary School in Brunswick; Deborah Poss, a secondary mathematics tacher at Lassiter High School in Marietta; and Steve Rich, a secondary science teacher at Chestnut Log Middle School in Douglasville. <br>

The awards ceremony will be held Wednesday night at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
