Marietta women's group bond while energizing lives

MARIETTA - Paul Conyngham never thought much about his wife&#39;s social group -- until ``The Oprah Winfrey Show&#39;&#39; taped a segment on it. <br> <br> He says until Oprah came along, he knew it as a night he had off. <br> <br> Nine Cobb County women, including Joanna Conyngham, first met as mothers of daughters in the same grade and continued their friendships over the next several years. <br> <br> When their children left for college, they wanted to spice up their time together. They planned outrageous activities such as belly dancing and baton twirling, and added to the experience with by designing their own funky shoes. <br> <br> Hence the name of the group -- ``Sole Sisters.&#39;&#39; <br> <br> The women sent an e-mail to Oprah&#39;s show a few months ago, which called and asked the group to tape its belly dancing event. The show sent a camera crew last week to follow the women when they became Harly Davidson-riding biker babes. <br> <br> The show is scheduled to be shown in September. <br> <br> Another outing was a trip to the pig races at the North Georgia Fair, where the women served as guest celebrities. All wore sashes and tiaras. <br> <br> Nancy Johnson, the newest ``Sole Sister,&#39;&#39; credits the group with helping her get over the May 1995 death of her husband, Neal, who had a heart attack.
