Morehouse president emeritus Hugh Gloster dies at 90

ATLANTA -Funeral services for Morehouse College president emeritus Hugh M. Gloster Sr. will be held Thursday at the school&#39;s Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel. <br> <br> Gloster, 90, died Saturday of a heart attack at DeKalb Medical Center. <br> <br> The school&#39;s first alumni president, he came to Morehouse in 1967. The Phi Beta Kappa 1931 Morehouse graduate replaced Benjamin E. Mays, who had led the school for 47 years. <br> <br> Gloster&#39;s administration was responsible for adding a dozen buildings to the campus and significantly boosting enrollment and faculty. He also is credited with increasing the college&#39;s endowment. <br> <br> The Morehouse School of Medicine opened its doors in 1975. Gloster also is responsible for developing new majors in international studies and the school of business. <br> <br>
