SAVANNAH - A leader of Savannah's Irish comunity has been selected as the Grand Marshal in the city's 2002 St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Seventy-one-year-old Eddie Fahey said, ``I think it's the greatest job an Irishman can get.''
Fahey, who was wearing an emerald-green jacket and a shamrock-covered necktie at the announcement, was selected in a secret vote of the more than 300 members of the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee.
Fahey, a retired credit manager, serves as a pastoral assistant at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.
As part of the city's festivities on parade day, March 16, Fahey will lead the nation's second largest St. Patrick's Day parade on a 3.2 mile course through downtown.
