Gas explosion blows house off foundation

VILLA RICA - A recently restored house was blown off its foundation and engulfed in flames Tuesday after workers digging in front struck a gas line. <br> <br> Two Carroll County firefighters were injured fighting the blaze, which sent black and yellow smoke rolling over the city. <br> <br> Authorities evacuated a two-block area, and gas along the main was shut off by Atlanta Gas Light workers. <br> <br> County Fire and Rescue Chief Gary Thomas said damage to the house would probably top $300,000. <br> <br> The work crew was installing fiber optic cable toward Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica when it hit the gas line, which was marked, Villa Rica Police Chief Dean Maddox said. <br> <br> The owners, John and Coey Wrobleski, were at work. In the five years they had lived there, the Wrobleskis had restored the home inside and out. <br> <br> ``I don&#39;t know what we will do now,&#39;&#39; she said.
