A Home Depot spokesman says 33-year-old Gocho Kolev was a subcontractor hired to clean the overhead rolling doors in the rear of the store.
Police say he was working on the door from a stepladder when he somehow got caught in it as it was rolling up.
Rescue workers spent more than an hour trying to get the trapped man out.
Kolev died at the scene.
