SAVANNAH - A 7-year-old girl has died from injuries she received in a fire that gutted her family's house and killed three others.
Hushaiane Davis, two women and a 4-year-old boy died in the early Friday morning blaze.
Six others escaped but were injured, including four children. One of them was a 9-day-old boy who wasn't breathing but was revived by his mother. Most of them remained hospitalized.
The fire was probably accidentally lit by burning candles, investigators said.
``It's just total devastation,'' said Savannah Fire Capt. Mike Taylor. ``Not only from the point of view of their loss, the structural loss and loss of property, but when you lose a loved one it's twice the devastation.''
A neighbor, Oji Lukata, helped save the survivors from the fire by finding a ladder and helping them climb down from a second-floor window in the burning house.
