Woman, 18, given life sentence for role in 2000 murder

MARIETTA - A Marietta woman has been sentenced to life in prison Tuesday for an armed robbery and murder that happened when she was 15. <br>

Starsha Scott is 18 now. She was also sentenced to an additional 15 years. She'll become the seventh female her age or younger sentenced to the Georgia prison system for life. <br>
<br>
Scott was convicted September 25 of participating in the May 10, 2000, robbery of a Cobb County Citgo gas station. <br>
<br>
Ejaz Rana -- the gas station's manager -- was killed during the robbery. <br>
<br>
Scott's cousin -- Melvin Dwayne Cooper -- pleaded guilty to murder and armed robbery and testified in Scott's trial. <br>
<br>
In Georgia, anyone 13 years old or older can be tried for murder as an adult.
