ALBANY - A federal judge sentenced the former manager of Albany State University's post office to five months in prison and three years of probation for embezzling money. <br>

Tanya Hayes also was ordered to repay more than $35,000 to the post office, where she was a manager in 1998 and 1999. She was fired after a November 1999 audit revealed the missing money. <br>

Albany Technical College hired Hayes as its registrar in November 2000. She was fired from that position Thursday.
