LAWRENCEVILLE - A 20-year-old man pleaded guilty to murder and received two consecutive life sentences Friday for beating a Lilburn man to death in the head with a hammer.
Chady Zeidan pleaded guilty to murder, felony murder and armed robbery in the death of Daniel Charles West, 23, at the Fairfield Inn in Duluth.
``Our intention is that he spend the rest of his life in prison,'' said District Attorney Danny Porter, who had been seeking the death penalty.
Also charged in West's death were Nathan Sliger of Loganville and Wadih G. Mounsef of Lawrenceville.
According to police, robbery was the apparent motive of the crime. The men took several hundred dollars from West when he stayed at the Fairfield Inn Motel in 2001.
Sliger was sentenced to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to murder and armed robbery earlier this year.
Mounsef is awaiting trial and remains at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
