ATLANTA - Christmas events, including services and feed-the-homeless dinners, are being held throughout Atlanta Wednesday.
The biggest event is the Hosea Feed the Hungry meal at Turner Field. It will last from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Thanksgiving, the group fed 17-thousand people. It is bracing for more than 22,000 people Wednesday.
In addition to meals, participants will have access to hair cuts, hot showers, pedicures and manicures, school supplies, new clothes and medical testing.
Other public dinners are being sponsored today by the Ministries United for Service and Training in Marietta and the Atlanta Union Mission. Two other Atlanta groups - Community Concerns and Overcoming With Joy - are also providing holiday meals.
