Hormel closes deal with Imperial Sugar for Diamond Crystal Brands

AUSTIN, MINNESOTA - Hormel Foods has closed on its purchase of Diamond Crystal Brands special food products from Imperial Sugar Company for $115 million. <br> <br> Diamond Crystal is based in Savannah, Georgia. The company employs about 600 people and operates four packaging facilities, making salt and pepper packets, beverage mixes and other products for the food service industry. <br> <br> Imperial is based in Sugar Land, Texas. The company markets about a quarter of the nation&#39;s sugar.
