MARIETTA - Officials at a Cobb County high school were not amused by students who wore costumes to class on Halloween. <br>

Officials say Halloween was no excuse for bending the dress code at Lassiter High School in Marietta. The principal told 24 students Thursday to remove their costumes or ghoulish makeup. <br>

District spokesman Jay Dillon says the students were not sent home or disciplined. In some cases, parents came to the school to bring appropriate shoes or clothing. <br>

Next year, the principal intends to send an advisory to parents before Halloween. <br>

Cobb County's rules allow principals to decide how rigorously to enforce the dress code.
