DECATUR - Singer Bobby Brown must stay in Georgia at least two more weeks until a judge decides whether to hold him in contempt of court.
Tuesday, state court Judge Wayne Purdom set a November 25 hearing date when he will consider contempt charges. Brown didn't appear in court in 1997 on charges of driving under the influence, speeding, failing to maintain a lane and having no proof of insurance.
Brown may enter a plea during that hearing, according to a court clerk. Until then, he remains free on bond.
Brown was arrested in Atlanta Thursday on charges of possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, speeding and having no driver's license or proof of insurance.
