TYRONE - Ed Nestlehutt nagged his wife, Chris, for five years to donate their 70-foot Georgia white pine to her employer, Rich's department store, as its rooftop Christmas tree.
Ed's persistence will pay off Thursday when the pine becomes the 55th Rich's Great Tree.
``Finally to satisfy him I said, 'I'll call,''' said Chris Nestlehutt, who works in the company credit union. ``I just didn't really believe they would want my tree.''
The tree beside the Nestlehutt's home Tryone will be cut down and hauled to Atlanta, then hoisted to the roof of Rich's store in Buckhead. The tree lighting is Thanksgiving night.
Last year's tree came from Paulding County. Others have come from as far away as the Carolinas.
The Nestlehutts were excited their tree was picked, but said they won't miss it that much.
``It's just getting so big,'' Chris Nestlehutt said.
