MARIETTA - A Cobb County high school has won the Bands of America Grand National Championship. <br>

The Lassiter High School Trojan Marching Band from Marietta was named the winner Saturday over 88 bands from all over the country. The competition took place in Indianapolis. <br>

Another Cobb County band -- the Kennesaw Mountain High School Marching Band -- finished seventh. <br>
<br>
The annual competition is sponsored by the nonprofit Chicago-based Bands of America. Bands were rated on musical ability, visual impact, as well as marching and movement skills. <br>
<br>
Lassiter also won the Class AAA competition and took another first in the Music and General Effects categories.
