SAVANNAH - A 37-year-old man is dead after being hit by a car as he attempted to cross a highway in southeast Georgia. <br>

Investigators with the Chatham County Police Department say Henry Lee Cooper of Midway was killed about 10 p.m. Tuesday. <br>

An autopsy is planned. <br>

A 49-year-old Savannah man was driving the car that struck Cooper. <br>
<br>
The accident remains under investigation.
