MOULTRIE - Few farmers are complaining about the gray, rainy day as the 25th annual Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition opens in south Georgia.
Farmers will need the rain -- along with the expo's harvesting demonstrations, entertainment and farm technology -- to change their fortunes as they try to get through the five-year drought.

The show, which runs through Thursday, features 600 acres of corn, peanuts and cotton for harvesting demonstrations and 100 acres of displays. About 200,000 visitors are expected.
U.S. Representative Saxby Chambliss, who is running for one of Georgia's U.S. Senate seats -- visited Sunbelt today.
He announced that the USDA has approved a disaster declaration for 147 counties that have lost crops and livestock because of the drought.
Twenty-two counties had already been declared disaster areas because of unusual weather -- particularly severe freezing last winter.
