Parkview-Norcross game to appear on ESPN

ATLANTA - Parkview High&#39;s football program is perhaps the premier team in the state.<br> <br> On Friday, the Lilburn school plays Norcross in a game that will take on added stature because the in-game highlights will be shown nationally on ESPN.<br> <br> &#34;That&#39;s pretty big potatoes for high school kids,&#34; Cecil Flowe, coach of the two-time defending state champions, said Tuesday. &#34;We&#39;re excited. That&#39;s some pretty big-time stuff.&#34;<br> <br> ESPN showcases a high school game with national significance during its Friday night college football telecasts.<br> <br> Parkview (6-0, 3-0 Region 8-AAAAA Div. A), which has won 36 games in a row, is ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press Class AAAAA rankings and No. 2 in various national polls.<br> <br> AT&T Broadband Channel 33, which is televising the Parkview-Norcross game in the Atlanta area, will provide ESPN with feeds during the network&#39;s coverage of Fresno State at Boise State.<br> <br> Of course, it takes two to tango, and Parkview can thank Norcross (5-0, 2 (0)- for providing a worthy opponent.<br> <br> Norcross is ranked No. 9 in Class AAAAA by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and is just out of the Top 10 in the AP poll.<br> <br> &#34;We&#39;re fortunate enough to have a good team, and we&#39;re playing a very good team,&#34; Blue Devils athletic director Mike Embry said. &#34;We made an announcement at school this morning, and the buzz is going really good around here right now.&#34;<br> <br> Kickoff for the game has been moved back to 8 p.m.<br> <br>
