Hall County communications director named

GAINESVILLE - Bob Anderson, a Hall County Fire Captain, will be the new central communications director.

Public Safety Director Doug Derrer says he has the experience to manage the department.

Anderson will make the transition from the fire department to central communications the week of January 27 - February 4.

Carolyn Perra, who has been serving as interim director for over a year, will move back to being the assistant.

The new Hall County central communications director will be asked to stay current on new technology. Derrer says part of that will involve jumping into an ongoing study to upgrade the 911 system's radios.
