Saints split at GSWS

AMERICUS - It was split on the road for the North Georgia College and State University basketball teams Thursday night.<br> <br> The Lady Saints, one of the top teams in the NAIA (ranked #4), ran their record to 17-1, 3-0 in the Georgia-Alabama-Carolina Conference with an 82-51 win over Georgia Southwestern State. The male Saints (5-11, 0-4 GACC) fell to GSWS 81-56.<br> <br> The North Georgia women were paced by North Hall grad Courtney hester with 33 points and six rebounds. Keisha Hall added 15 for the Lady Saints with Nijia Warren chipping in 10 points and eight boards. Lakeview grad Holly Vandiver had five points an assist and a steal, while Gainesville alum Kameisha Topps handed out three assists, grabbed two rebounds, and made two steals.<br> <br> Tiffiney Garrett with 13 and Shivar Cofield with 10 paced Georgia Southwestern.<br> <br> Joe Montgomery with 12 points and Marcus Hawkins with 11 were the only North georgia men scoring in double figures, while GSWS had three men in double digits: Reyanldo Robinson with 13, as well as Kevin Griffin and Gary Wilson with 11 each. Robinson had a double-double with 12 rebounds to go with those 13 points.<br>
