BUFORD, Ga. — Ayden Lockett had three hits and scored four times to help lead Buford to an 11-1, six-inning Region 8-6A win over Discovery on Monday at Gerald McQuaig Field.
The Wolves (15-5 , 11-2 Region 8-6A) trailed the Titans (6-10, 3-10 Region 8-6A) in the first inning on a Tomas Franklin sacrifice fly. But Buford answered with four runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a two-run single from Vance Bock.
That was more than enough for Ryland Perry, who earned the win, scattering four hits and giving up one run in five innings. He struck out eight.
Buford added arun in the second and then blew it open in the fourth with three runs. Cannon Goldin knocked in a pair of runs in the inning and then back-to-back RBI doubles by Carson Reeves and Ian Chfain in the sixth invoked the Mercy Rule.
The two teams will resume their three-game series on Wednesday at Discovery.
