PORTLAND, OREGON - A Delta Air Lines flight from Japan to Atlanta made an emergency landing at Portland International Airport this week after reports of smoke in the cockpit.
The plane was diverted to Portland and landed at about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, said Port of Portland spokesman Steve Johnson.
Anthony Black, a Delta spokesman in Atlanta, said the captain decided to make an emergency landing after smelling ``electronic smoke.'' The plane landed without incident and taxied on its own power to the gate, he said.
The plane, an MD-11, had 183 people on board. No injuries were reported, Johnson said.
