Children killed in wreck with bus; father released from hospital

MARIETTA - A 7-year-old boy and his 9-year-old sister were killed Wednesday when the sport utility vehicle their father was driving hit a school bus. <br> <br> Cobb County police said the children&#39;s father, Brian Stewart Young, 37, of Marietta, ran a red light. <br> <br> The bus, which was carrying no children, was making a left turn at about 8:20 a.m. when the collision occurred, Cobb County Police spokesman Dana Pierce said. <br> <br> Pierce said the boy, Brian Young, died at the scene and his sister, Isabella, died about five hours later at WellStar Kennestone Hospital. <br> <br> Their father also was taken to Kennestone. Hospital officials said Thursday he had been released. <br> <br> Pierce said the bus driver, Linda D. Barger, 54, of Acworth, was taken to Wellstar by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. <br> <br> Witnesses told police the driver of the SUV, who was taking the two children to school, failed to stop at a red light.
