University of North Georgia sophomore Megan Sabol was selected to participate as an individual in the 2018 NCAA Division II South Super Regional Women's Golf Championship as announced by the NCAA office on Friday afternoon.

The three-day event will be held from May 7-9 at Germantown Country Club in Germantown, Tennessee.

In order to be selected to play as an individual, a student-athlete must be from a team that did not qualify for the tournament and be one of the top six golfers in either the South or Southeast region.

Ranked No. 16 in the latest GolfStat rankings, Sabol has a stroke average of 74.45 shots per round with a low score of 68. She has three individual medalist honors, including winning the Peach Belt Conference Championship.

The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships to be held May 16-19 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 72.
