Merck goes 1-under in final round of Jay Jennison Memorial

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida — Tanner Merck used three birdies in the final six holes to post a one-under 71 in the final round of the Jay Jennison Memorial hosted by Flagler. The University of North Georgia men's golf team finished in 13th place in the tournament.

No. 3 Barry broke the tournament record for lowest score in the tournament by 22 strokes, finishing with a three-round total of 830. No. 25 Young Harris finished 32 strokes back in second, followed by Lander in third with Rollins and USC Aiken tied for fourth.

North Georgia shot its best round of the tournament, a four-over 292. Merck finished the day with four birdies to post the best single round of the tournament for UNG.

Logan Archer improved each round and finished the final round with an even-par 72. Starting off hole No. 10, he had three birdies in his first nine holes before playing the final nine making par on each hole.

North Georgia will now prepare to host the fifth annual UNG Invitational next week at Achasta Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday, October 1-2.
