DAHLONEGA — The University of North Georgia tennis programs garnered national rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday as the association announced its national team rankings ahead of the start of the 2018 season.
The men's team is ranked 18th in the nation in the preseason poll, matching last year's preseason ranking. The team is also ranked in the preseason top 25 for the fourth consecutive year.
The women's team comes into the 2018 season ranked 22nd nationally. It is the Nighthawks' highest preseason ranking in program history, up from No. 34 last year at the same point in the season.
The Nighthawks will open up the season on the road at Belmont Abbey on February 3. First serve for both the men and the women is set for 9 a.m.
