Senior Brittany Truitt was named the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Week as announced by the conference office Tuesday morning. This is the fifth time in Truitt's career that she has been given the award.

Truitt won the Columbus State Invitational on Saturday at Fort Benning, Georgia, on the same course that will host the PBC Championship in October. The senior from Villa Rica, Georgia, covered the 5K course in 18:11.8, finishing 30 seconds ahead of her nearest competitor. Her efforts helped the Nighthawks to the team title with a 58-point margin. Her time was the third-fastest 5k run in the PBC this season.

The Nighthawks will hit the course again on October 6 at the Georgia College Bobcat Invitational. The race is scheduled to start at 5:15 p.m.
