FLORENCE, S.C. — Coming off a fifth-straight Peach Belt tournament appearance, the University of North Georgia women's basketball team is set to start the 2017-18 season on the road at the Peach Belt/Conference Carolinas Challenge, hosted by Francis Marion, this weekend. UNG will take on North Greenville on Friday before battling Erskine Saturday.

North Georgia returns over half of its scoring from a year ago, including Amber Skidgel, who was third on the squad last season with 11 points per game. The Nighthawks finished with 20 wins last season for the third time in four years.

UNG is unbeaten since 2001 against its opponents for this weekend, holding a 4-0 advantage over the Crusaders and a 3-0 lead over the Flying Fleet.
