Mary Ruth Chapman

Mary Ruth Chapman was born on September 21, 1929 in Jackson County, Georgia to the late Lila Mae Walker and step father, Jim Walker. She was called home to eternal peace on March 20, 2020. 

Mary began her journey with God as a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Pendergrass and later,
 First Baptist Church in Gainesville. She contributed to the community for the majority of her life at Georgia Broil, currently known as Country Pride for 42 years. Traveling and shopping were her favorite pastimes, but not as much as spending quality time with close family and friends. Her generous spirit touched many people throughout the course of her life. 

Mary Ruth Chapman is survived by her son, Anthony Dorsey; grandchildren, Terrell Dorsey, Brian Dorsey, Andrea Dorsey, and Marc Anthony Dorsey; great grandchildren, Messiah Dorsey, Zaria Brown, Jada Dorsey, Aaliyah Dorsey, and Jayden Oglesby; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial service will be held Thursday March 26, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Dexter T. Sims Mortuary, LLC in The Rev. Charlie, Jr. and Conchita Sims Memorial Chapel
