Chester Day Gaddis, 69, of Dawsonville passed away Tuesday March 3, 2020 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born September 17, 1950, Chester was raised in Forsyth County where she graduated high school in 1970 and married her beloved husband shortly thereafter. She had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past fifty years and had worked as a paraprofessional in the Dawson County School System. A very active member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, Chester was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a great love for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nimrod and Clydine Day and brother, Earl Day.
Surviving are her husband of 49 years, James Gaddis; daughter and son in law, Dennia and Chris Heffner; son and daughter in law, Travis and Lysa Gaddis; grandchildren, Rhiannon Martin, Abey Gaddis, Eli Gaddis, all of Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Rev. Dusty Holtzclaw, Rev. David Skinner, Rev. Rodney Pilcher, Rev. Jack Pilcher and Rev. Paul Bagley will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday March 5 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
