James Edward Gay

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James Edward Gay, age 92 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Monday, March 2, 2020.  Mr. Gay was born in Loughman, Florida a son of the late Charlie Mac Gay and the late Nora Blanch Pendly Gay, was a Retired Veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired Service Representative with Gould, Inc..  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gay is preceded by two brothers, Ralph Gay, and Robert Gay.  Daughter Denise Gay Matthews and his wife, Elizabeth Puckett Gay.

Survivors include Granddaughters, Ashley Drake and her husband Dustin of Hollywood, South Carolina and Whitney Matthews and her Fiance, William Wright of Commerce.  Grandson, Tyler Matthews and his wife Laurel of Martin.  Two brothers, Ronald Gay of Jefferson, and Glen Gay of Campbellsville, Kentucky.  A great grandson, Beckett Carter Matthews also survives.

Graveside funeral services with full Military Honors will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia with Tyler Matthews and Charles Gay officiating.
