Annebell Amelia Brown

Annebell Amelia Brown, 67, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2020. She is survived by John, her husband of 39 years, and several family members in Germany. 

She was born in Velbert, Germany, on January 14, 1953. Her parents were Hans Joachim and Charlotte Wormstedt. She earned a BA degree and was employed as a librarian and an Egyptologist. 

John was serving in the U.S. Army in Germany when he met Annebell. They fell in love and later came home to Fair Play, South Carolina, to be married in 1980.  John spent 13 years in the Army and was discharged in 1991. 

They later came to the Helen area, drawn by the Bavarian theme of the city. They settled in a cabin in a nearby wooded area where they lived happily for 30 years. 

John, will receive friends and family at the Helen First Baptist Church, 53 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen, GA, on Sunday, March 8,? ?2020, beginning at 2:00 P.M. A memorial celebration of life service will follow at 3:00 P.M. The Rev. Jim Holmes will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to the Charles Smithgall Humane Society, 4823 Helen Hwy 75, Sautee Nacoochee, Georgia 30571.
