Bonnie Ray Johnson Mercer

Obituary Date: Thursday, February 27, 2020

Mrs. Bonnie Ray Johnson Mercer age 86 of Gainesville passed away on Thursday February 27, 2020 at New Horizons Limestone following an extended illness.   

Graveside services are scheduled for Monday March 02, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in Argonia Cemetery in Argonia, Kansas.  

Bonnie was born on May 27, 1933 in Kiowa, Kansas to the late William Raymond Johnson and Edna Beulah Carey Johnson. She graduated high school in Argonia, Kansas in 1951. She worked as a secretary for The Boeing Company under the Nasa Program. Bonnie personally worked with Neil Armstrong and the other 6 original astronauts. Bonnie formed and started the Myasthenia Gravis group in Jacksonville, Florida. Bonnie was a loving person who enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul Mercer, daughter, Nancy McCracken, step-mother, Flora Johnson and brother, Larry Johnson.       

Bonnie is survived by her sister, Letha Lieb of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, daughter, Peggy McCracken Lanich, step-son, John Mercer, step-daughter, Andrea Wilson, step-daughter, Hillary Mercer, grand-children, Peggy Keezer, Jessica Rosas, Rebecca Wilson, Ryan Mercer, Lyndsay Shope, Taylor Mercer, James Mercer, Georgia Mercer, George Mercer, great-grandchildren, Joslyn  Keezer and Lilly Rosas and family, Gerald Lanich.
