Callie Wright Ledford

Callie Wright Ledford, 90, of Gainesville 

Callie passed away Sunday morning, February 23, 2020 peacefully surrounded by family. 

Callie was preceded in death by her grandfather, H.H. Dean, grandmother, Callie Dean, father, Frank C. Wright Sr., mother, Helen Dean Wright; one brother, Frank, two sisters, Helen and Mildred and husband of over 50 years, Larry B. Ledford. 

Callie was born in Gainesville, GA. She worked for the American Heart Association and volunteered as a “Gray Lady” at the old Hall County Hospital. She was a sustainer in the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and she was actively involved in Women of the Church, Circle 5. 

Callie was affectionately known as “Becca” by her grandchildren, family and close friends. She had a tremendous heart, love for all animals, especially cats, as well as her humor and special sayings that kept everyone laughing. She was a doting grandmother who loved her children, grandchildren and family dearly. She often babysat her grandchildren weekly, taking them shopping, was known to spoil them and loved telling stories and reminiscing of her childhood and young adult life.

Callie is survived by son, Bruce Ledford and wife Laura Ledford, son, Barry Ledford, daughter, Angie Ledford all of Gainesville; granddaughters, Madison Ledford, Melody Ledford and Kimberly Ledford; a sister-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Services will be held, Tuesday, February 25 at 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville. Family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia and First Prebesteryian Church of Gainesville, Georgia.
