James Artice Mincey

Mr. James Artice Mincey, 82, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Rev. Harold Evans and Rev. Danny Evans will officiate. Interment will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Born on August 25, 1937 in Northeast Georgia he was the son of the late Artice Henry and Ollie Mae Wilbanks Mincey. He was owner and operator of J. A. Mincey Plumbing and a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Mincey is preceded in death by his sister, Ann Satterfield; brother, Johnny Mincey and children, Terry Lackey and Debbie Calhoun.

Mr. Mincey is survived by his wife, Rita King Mincey of Gainesville; daughter, Sherry Savage of Maysville; daughter, Marcy Mincey of Cleveland; son, Joe Mincey of Gainesville; son, Larry Burson of Gainesville; daughter, Britany Cantrell (Alex)  of Cleveland; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Evelyn Brock of Gainesville and Dorothy Floyd of Gainesville and a number of other relatives.
