Walter David Sutton, age 77, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Walter was born in 1943, to the late J.D. and Viola Sutton. He was a member at Lebanon Baptist Church in Dawsonville, GA. While attending the church, Walter held the positions of Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Treasurer, Assistant secretary, and more. He loved his Lord, family, and church. He enjoyed wood working, watching his birds, and was an all-around outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Sutton; children, Delores Stockton, Teresa (James) Sams, Kathy (Jeff) Brooks, Terry (Melissa) Sutton, and Michelle (Brad) Bates; grandchildren, Heather Bailey, Anthony Brooks, Mark Poole, Josh Sams, Matthew Brooks, Erica Rawlins, Christine Palmer, Alexis Sutton, Jackson Sutton, and Abby Bates; great grandchildren, Dakota Brooks, Jaden Bailey, Dove Oglesbee, Kennedy Bailey, and Ansley Rawlins; siblings, Helen Turman, Jean Smith, Ronnie Sutton, Gail Manus, Ann Grant, Bobby Sutton, Kenny Sutton, and Elaine Garrison; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services from Mr. Sutton will be held Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. Interment will follow at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
