Jimmie Lou Hicks Corn

Jimmie Lou Hicks Corn age 81, of Gainesville passed away Tuesday February 18, 2020 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Jimmie was born on April 3, 1938 in Wrightsville, GA to the late Sandy & Fannie Mae Dover Hicks. She was a seamstress with Warren Featherbone and was a member of Pine Grove Holiness Church in Alto, GA. She was a devoted wife of 59 years, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She lived her life with love, generosity and a devotion to serving God. Taking care of her children was one of her passions in life; those who were blessed to know her hold her joyous memories in their hearts. She was lovingly referred to as “Mama Jim” by family, friends and the children she cared for. She was preceded in death by brothers, Junior & Jack Hicks; sisters, Ruby Molnar & Geneva Parker.

Mrs. Corn was survived by her loving husband, Derrell Corn; sons and daughters in law, Sandy & June Corn of Cleveland, Keith& Tammy Corn of Oakwood, Daniel & Catherine Corn of Buford, Kevin & Annie Corn of Gainesville; 11 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday February 21, 2020 in the Chapel of Ward’s Funeral Home with Rev. Lou Franklin & Rev. Graylen Armour officiating. Burial will follow in Antioch Fire Baptized Holiness Church Cemetery in Lula. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday February 20, 2020 at the funeral home.
