Jonathan Leahy

Jonathan Benjamin Leahy, age 21, of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina passed away on February 12, 2020.

Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020.  The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020.

Jonathan, our devoted son, was born August 31, 1998 in Athens, Georgia to Tim and Angela Leahy.  To David Leahy, he was a loving brother, who served as his translator as a child as well as his mentor and best friend.  Jonathan was an avid outdoorsman and was happiest hiking, camping and introducing these experiences to his friends.  He was passionate about live music, cooking, tabletop and on-line games, using all these hobbies to bring friends together.  Jonathan’s journey was one in which he carved his own path.  Jonathan was an artist in both pencil and music having taught himself how to play several instruments.  He was a devoted and loving father to his 4 month old son, Roland.  He was an extremely bright student at Wake Tech, pursuing a career in Computer Science.  Jonathan was a hardworking, loyal and dependable employee at Linda’s Bar and Grill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, as well as Hickory Tavern in Holly Springs, North Carolina.

In addition to his parents, Jonathan leaves to cherish his memory one brother, David Leahy of Holly Springs, North Carolina; grandmother, Dianne Cantrell of Gainesville; aunt & uncle, Lisa and Ray Francingues and 3 cousins of Cumming; grandfather & grandmother, Norbert & Marlene Leahy of Dunwoody; 5 aunts, Lisa Lawrence, Michelle Krautter, Julie Warren, Jean Trent and Coleen Nye; 4 uncles; and 11 cousins.  He will be missed by all the many friends he made over the years.
